Schedule of the First Deep South eFlora Workshop

Changed:
<
<
Goals of the workshop include (1) assessing collection strengths (taxonomic and geographic) of herbaria located in or near the ecoregion, (2) assessing databasing expertise at interested institutions and agencies, (3) characterizing the ideal plant database (in terms of content and technical functionality), and (4) planning the steps necessary to make the database a reality.

It is anticipated that the workshop will begin with a short series of presentations on bioinformatics projects, tools, and funding opportunities. This will be followed by a series of small-group and whole-group discussions related primarily to goals (3) and (4) above. It is anticipated that much of the information necessary to addressing goals (1) and (2) can be gathered prior to the workshop by a questionaire. The results of this questionaire will be summarized in an early presentation at the workshop.

The current schedule for the workshop is below. Exact details might change prior to the workshop. Unless otherwise noted, events will take place on the fourth floor of Dirac Science Library in the seminar room (room 499) of the School of Computational Science.
